Wow, I can't believe how long it has been since I added to this blog.
What a strange year we have had, but so many lessons to learn and perhaps some new appreciations of the more simple things in life.
As I type this, I am starting to think about our Christmas celebrations this year and how they will be so very different. Those that know our family will know that my sister in law comes out from Italy each December to spend a month or so with us and our extended family. With International travel unlikely to be allowed, this does not look like it will happen in 2020.
Our son and his fiancé are in Sydney, a niece is in Melbourne and a nephew is in Canberra, will the state border open to allow them to come home? I cant bare to think that we won't be all together for Christmas!
I know that we are not alone and lots of families have similar stories, and many so much worse. We have friends that have been unable to visit sick and dying relatives and know grandparents who are yet to meet and welcome their new family members.
I am grateful that we are all healthy, safe, loved and employed. Maybe we need to celebrate Christmas that little bit harder this year!
